Malahart was designed with the intention of looking corrupted and dangerous, from the daggers often hanging off his outfit to the constant x imagery which also alludes the concept of being shut-off from the world.
Malahart's topology. As you can see there aren't a lot of faces here. 2,371 in total, most being in the face area. The goal was to test my ability to retopo with a low face count, but this ended up causing more problems than solving them due to the method detail was projected onto the model. Normal maps failed to work so I had to use a multi-res and shrinkwrap modifier to get the detail, which unfortunately made it look messy.
